Advanced Studies: Zen Koans
Zen Koans: How do we live in not-knowing?
with Ben Connelly
Koans, brief paradoxical Zen stories and questions, are one of the most unique aspects of our tradition. They pose an impossible barrier to our conventional minds to encourage us to break through to a new and vibrant way of being. This advanced class is an invitation to encounter Zen thought in its most spontaneous and dynamic form.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive at the first class with a copy of Joan Sutherland's, Through Forests of Every Color. Available through online retailers and at https://www.shambhala.com/through-forests-of-every-color.html There will also be a copy of the book on hold for reading in the library.

Please register five days in advance.
Offered online and in person.

A Note About Donation-only Programming
Following the Buddhist tradition of dana, or giving, MZMC offers all of our programs on a donation basis. We offer a suggested donation amount to help people understand the average amount we hope to receive to continue to make these offerings. We encourage those with more capacity for giving to make a donation above the suggested amount to support those who need to give a smaller amount.
